Fluorescence image of osteosarcoma cell with labeled actin cytoskeleton network. The AFM was used to make force measurements on the cell, before and after treatment with a drug that disrupts the actin network. Force curves show a dramatic softening of the cell indicated by the much more gradual increase in force on the treated cell (dotted line) compared to the untreated cell (solid line).
